The first Scheldeprijs was organized on July 28, 1907 by the Antwerp section of the B.W.B.

Frenchman Maurice Leturgie won the first edition, which went through Lier, Aarschot, Mechelen, ad finished on the velodrome « Zurenborg ».

Since then 98 editions of the Scheldeprijs took place. The race was not organized during the world wars. In 2007 we celebrated our centenary. The Scheldeprijs is the centenarian in best shape from all Flanders!
